The Incredible Years
Incredible Years Parenting Classes

The Incredible Years is an evidence-based parenting education program designed for families whose children are between 2 and 8 years old. The program is conducted in a group setting and runs once per week for 14 weeks. Content is centered on four main topic areas: child-directed play and coaching, praise and rewards, positive discipline and handling misbehavior. SPCC offers three Incredible Years series each year. The schedule is below. Dinner and child care are provided with advanced notice. Registration is required. Please call the main office to register or if you have questions.
Group 1: Wednesday evenings, September 7, 2011-December 7, 2011; 5:30-8:00pm

Group 2: Thursday evenings, October 13, 2011-December 1, 2011, then a holiday break, with group
continuing from January 5, 2012-February 16, 2012; 5:30-8:00pm

Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers is an evidence-based parenting education and home visiting model designed for families with children prenatal through 5 years old. Families receive personal visits, group meetings, child screening (general health, development, hearing and vision) and referrals to community resources. Focus of the personal visits is on parent-child interaction, developmental centered parenting and family well-being. This program is open to families already active in the following SPCC programs: the Teen Age Parent Support Services Program, Building Healthy Children Program, Family Trauma Intervention Program and the Supervised Visitation Program.
