TITLE: Case Manager in the Family Trauma Intervention Program (40 hours/week)
SALARY: Starting at $35,000
START DATE: July 2020
JOB SUMMARY: Provides home-based services to children and families for whom the children are at risk of foster care placement, have experienced severe abuse or a fatality, and/or trauma has been a major cause of disruptive family life. These services may include, but are not limited to case management, parenting skills training, court and community advocacy, responsibility of child protection related mandates, transportation of clients to support case work tasks, information, referral and concrete services. All casework services are documented in the NYS Connections System, and/or other online health records. Performs additional related work as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in human services field and/or a minimum of two years’ work experience working with trauma, children and families. The strongest candidates will have a value in therapeutic work with children and/or adolescents and their families. Must be able to recognize and identify aspects of child maltreatment, multi-cultural issues, and must demonstrate the commitment and ability to perform as a competent professional working with children and families from a client centered approach. Adherence to professional and ethical standards required, including ethical principles related to client interaction, documentation, report writing, file maintenance, and confidentiality. Should be willing to conduct continuous upgrading of professionalism by attending available workshops and seminars. Must have the capacity to learn applicable software systems to complete necessary documentation.
