TITLE:  Director of Human Resources

ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to President & CEO

JOB SUMMARY: Has the responsibility of managing the agency’s Human Resource operations including management of the Human Resource team, keeping personnel policies and handbook current, compliance with labor laws, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training, staffing, employee programs and HR projects.  Other responsibilities included managing the HRIS system and assisting with implementing modules, providing backup and overseeing payroll, and other related functions.  This Director of HR will be a working director that assists with day-to-day responsibilities of the HR generalist.  The Director of HR or designee, participates in strategic initiatives to achieve organizational objectives and functions, and serves as an advisor to and collaborator with the President & CEO and Members of the Leadership Team.

HOURS: 40 Hours per week, Benefits Eligible

STARTING SALARY: $62,000 – $68,000 per year

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources with a minimum of five years of senior level experience.  PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.  Demonstrated extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws and best practices including experience with practical application and interpretation of employment law.  Maintain the highest standard of professionalism to achieve and maintain credibility with all levels of the organization.  Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels within the agency.  Ability to objectively coach staff and management through difficult issues. Knowledge of and familiarity with trauma-informed, reflective practices. DEI credentialed and/or experience required.   Demonstrated values supporting diversity and inclusion. Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Applicants must be self-motivated to learn and stay current on Human Resources regulations.  Proficient with MS Office Suite software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and payroll systems.  Organized, with the ability to multitask while maintaining a keen attention to detail.   Payroll experience and Paycom Payroll Software experience is a plus.
