Full-Time Clinician, Therapeutic Visitation Program (30 hrs/wk)
TITLE: Full-Time Clinician, Therapeutic Visitation Program (30 hrs/wk)
HOURS: Some evening hours included; schedule negotiated upon hiring. 30 hours per week.
SALARY: $32,000 – $34,000
JOB SUMMARY: Provide child-focused counseling to children and their parents impacted by maltreatment, neglect, attachment disruption, loss, separation (often through foster care), high conflict divorce and custody, and histories of trauma within the context of supervised visitation. Goals are developed to promote healing and support the well-being of the child within the family system. Attachment theory and psychodynamic theoretical underpinnings are woven into a variety of evidence & practice based and trauma informed practices; candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of these frameworks. Therapists maintain all aspects of treatment (i.e., intake, assessment, developing treatment goals, providing therapeutic sessions, preparing reports, maintaining files, communicating with collaterals, etc.) Therapist must demonstrate verbal and written communication that maintains a child-focus and preserves the high caliber and integrity of the program and agency.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field, with at least two years clinical experience working with children and families. Must be licensed or license eligible; Infant Mental Health Endorsed or Endorsement eligible preferred. Applicant must be familiar with the psycho-social aspects of child maltreatment, neglect, trauma, and high-conflict custody. Infant-Parent Psychotherapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, or Creative Arts Therapy experience preferred. Excellent verbal and writing skills are required. Selected candidate will continuously be expected to advance his/her professional knowledge and skills by attending relevant workshops and seminars and must demonstrate the commitment and ability to perform as a competent child-focused therapist.
