Skyler joined SPCC WIC in August 2020, bringing with her a background in biology and a long-standing interest in public policy. After college, she realized that lab work wasn’t the right fit—she wanted to connect with people. Nutrition turned out to be the perfect blend of her passions: science, policy, and community.

Working at WIC was a natural choice for Skyler, who was inspired by the opportunity to help families build healthy habits from the very beginning. She believes strongly in prevention—ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food so that health problems can be avoided before they start.

Skyler lives with her wife, Serena, and their three beloved cats: Val and Terry (a mischievous sibling duo) and Bobby, the newest member of the family. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her immersed in fiber arts like knitting, crocheting, or embroidery—often at her weekly knitting group. She also enjoys neighborhood walks, wrangling her energetic cats, and doing her best to keep her houseplants thriving.
