Dr. Zielinski is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who currently works for CompassionNet, a community based Pediatric Palliative Care and Hospice Team.

Dr. Zielinski is passionate about child welfare. She worked to create and implement a standardized screening tool to assess families for risk factors for child neglect within a large hospital based pediatric clinic at University of Rochester Medical Center. This tool seeks to identify families with risk factors to offer families support and resources before they reach crisis. This tool is now used at many practices throughout Monroe County.

Dr. Zielinski has a passion for working with underserved communities as well as a strong focus on trauma-informed care. She currently is part of multiple working teams within the community focusing on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Trauma Informed Care, Children with Disabilities, and Child Welfare.

Dr. Zielinski has been a certified foster parent for fourteen years and specializes in caring for children who are medically fragile and children with significant developmental disabilities. This personal experience has resulted in a unique understanding and perspective when working with families affected by childhood trauma and/or medically/developmentally complex children.

Dr. Zielinski works as an educator to a variety of disciplines including Nurses, Social Workers, Physicians and Medical Students giving presentations and lectures both in the academic and professional settings. She is the Nursing Discipline Coordinator for the interdisciplinary University of Rochester LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) Program.
